Genepox Primer - Solvent Epoxy Anticorrosive Primer
It is a two-component reaction-drying epoxy resin based and cured with polyamide hardener, with high filling power, forming a solid base for the paints to be applied on it, and zinc phosphate added epoxy anticorrosive protective primer with good adhesion properties. It is suitable for all types of wood exposed to water, sea water, chemicals and abrasion. , is used as an anticorrosive primer in priming metal and mineral surfaces and in areas where high corrosion resistance is required. It adheres perfectly to sheet metal, galvanized and aluminum surfaces. Its performance is very good in general industry, machine manufacturers, metal protection and marine applications.
Surface Preparation and Application Method
The application surfaces should be cleaned of any substance that will reduce adhesion. Metal surfaces should be ideally sandblasted to at least Sa2 ½ and primed with Gen Epoxy Anticorrosive Primer within 6 hours. 7 parts Epoxy Primer and 1 part Epoxy Primer Hardener are mixed and waited for 10-15 minutes. Depending on the surface to be applied and the ambient temperature, it is diluted with Epoxy Thinner by 10-15%.
Dilution / Mixing Ratio
7 parts Epoxy Anticorrosive Primer + 1 part Epoxy Anticorrosive Primer Hardener by weight. 10-15% Epoxy Thinner should be used for thinning.
Paintable (Coatable) Area
When applied to leave a 60 micron dry film, 7-8 m² of area can be covered with 1 kg of mixture. Practical coating area varies depending on surface roughness and amount of loss during application.
Drying Time
Touch dry 3-4 hours depending on thickness. Wait at least 18 hours before applying a layer. Reaches mechanical resistance in 4-6 days.
Recommended Application Appliances
Brush, roller, airless, spray gun.
